QueueExplorer for Mac and Linux enters Beta — now with full Professional edition feature parity

A month ago, we released the first Alpha version of QueueExplorer for Mac and Linux. Since then, we’ve received valuable feedback from early adopters. Thanks!

Today, we released Beta version. We reached feature parity with Professional edition, so now it supports schema operations, custom columns (XML, JSON, Regex), queue views and custom folders.

You can now use QueueExplorer on your preferred platform without giving up the advanced capabilities you’re used to.

Anything missing?

The most obvious thing is – there’s no MSMQ support. For MSMQ to work QueueExplorer has to talk to local MSMQ service, which obviously doesn’t exist on Mac or Linux. In the comming months we’ll see whether we can make QueueProxy work, but it won’t be in the first release. If you need to manage MSMQ from non-Windows machines please let us know (email won’t hurt) so that we know how urgent that would be.

We still need your feedback

This is still a Beta release, and your feedback remains incredibly valuable.

If you run into issues, notice anything that feels out of place, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know. Real-world usage helps us improve the product much faster than any internal testing.

Availability

The Beta version is available now and can be downloaded from our website.

The upcoming production release of QueueExplorer for Mac and Linux will be available at no additional cost to all QueueExplorer v5 users with active support. If your support expired (licenses come with 12 months of support), you’ll have an option to purchase support period that was not covered. Users or earlier versions will have the usual “major upgrade” option.
